Who we are

Hoot & Fox is published by Luke Welch, a sole trader based in the UK. Contact hello@hootandfox.com.

The website

hootandfox.com uses Plausible Analytics (cookieless, aggregated, EU-hosted) and, where shown, Google AdSense. In the UK/EEA you'll be asked for consent before any ad personalisation. Settings such as dark mode and today's puzzle result are stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

The iPhone app

The app has no accounts. Progress is stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud, in your private iCloud key-value store. Game Center handles leaderboards and friends under Apple's identity. Ads are served by Google AdMob; with your permission via App Tracking Transparency, the advertising identifier may be used for personalised ads. Without it, ads are non-personalised.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and serves only G-rated ad content. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold and request deletion. Because we hold no account data, this usually means clearing local storage or iCloud data yourself; email us for help.

Changes

We'll post changes here with a new effective date.
